Today we moved further up the coast to Campsite Vale Paraíso Natur Park which will be our base to visit the nearby fishing village of Nazaré, and the walled town of Óbidos.
The route was approximately 140km and we chose to avoid the toll roads which meant we passed through some nice looking villages. This required navigating some narrow streets and tight turns at times, but we arrived without incident.

The campsite is another ACSI Camping Card site with a rate of €17 a night and further discount of 7 nights for price of 6 so we booked in for 7 nights.
The site covers a wide area on many terraces and slopes. The pitches are of gravel and various sizes.
The facilities are good with fine pool, modern shower/toilet blocks and a café.
We chose a pitch which was close to the washrooms and water supply and a good amount of evening sun.
By some fluke there was also a gap in the tree cover that allowed a satellite signal to reach our dish, so Kim would be able to see the Royal wedding, and me the F.A. Cup final 🙂
