Today we are heading for Sweden. We were booked on the 18:30hr TT Lines ferry from Rostock to Trelleborg so we had a casual pack up of the car and caravan. Lutz & Antje had an appointment in Berlin so we said our goodbyes and proceeded into Oranienburg for much needed supplies.
Around noon we were ready to roll and set off onto the autobahn. Almost immediately we were slowed to a crawl by road works and very heavy traffic. There were long sections of quite narrow lanes and 60kph speed limits.
Eventually we started to make good progress, well, 80kph progress which is the speed limit for untested caravans in Germany.
After a halfway stop for coffee we arrived in good time for our ferry, the delightfully named MS Huckleberry Finn.
Towing Kilometres – Today: 219 Cumulative: 17,130
Check-in was easy and we soon took our place in line with many motorhomes and a few other caravans.
We boarded and found a comfortable place to sit for the crossing and settled to read for a while. The ferry was an hour late leaving.
When we decided it would be a good time to eat Kim found that all the hot food had been sold and the café was closed. Note to selves, eat early next time.
The café reopened at 23:00 serving breakfast!
We drove off the ferry around 00:30 and made our way to a parking place about 8km to the east that Lutz had pointed out on his Park4Night app. We found it easy enough and made our way in as quietly as possible because there were already 4 motorhomes there.

I think we both took a while to get to sleep, despite the long day, listening intently to any sounds around but a good nights rest was had by us both. Gratis 🙂
