We had enjoyed our short stay at Las Lomas. This despite having our first rain for about seven weeks, and the presence of two shady looking pups that resembled African Hunting dogs that were always skulking around.
Although I lack any real evidence, I am convinced one of the little buggers stole one of my flipflops overnight! 🙂
Our next intended place to visit was Ronda. We had spent a group summer holiday there in the early 2000’s and knew it to be an attractive and interesting city.

The route of approx. 210km consisted mostly of smooth, quiet autovias before becoming twisting, climbing, and descending single carriageway roads as we approached our target for the day, El Sur Camping.
The site is close to the city, a 30 minute walk, and fine views all around. We received a very friendly welcome when we arrived and were pleased to discover that the site was offering a discount to the normal rate plus free nights for extended stays 🙂 Result.
We were furnished with details of the city, some interesting driving routes and details for connection to the very good free wi-fi. Excellent bread can be ordered for the following morning.
The facilites on-site are good and the terraced pitches flat and firm. The restaurant bar is open long hours and although we didn’t eat there, we were advised that the food is good.
We checked in for an initial 4 nights and were soon comfortably setup on our pitch and relaxing with a beer in the sun. The forecast is good for the next week too 🙂
