On our journey north from Ferrel on the Algarve we had spotted Aljezur and the ruins of a castle on top of a hill. It was a 45 minute drive from Zambujeira so we drove back to pay it a visit.

Monday 7th May 2018

A short bike ride from our campsite Camping Villa Park Zambujeira was another superb sandy beach on the Alentejo coast, Zambujeira do Mar.

The one way system for cars in the town did not affect us on our cycle and we could head straight through the town towards the beach.

Our current location was perfect for exploring the wonderful beaches of Portugal and we were honestly spoilt for choice and having a car meant that we were able to visit more remote beaches. A recommendation had been Bordeira and we were not to be disappointed. Continue reading Praia de Bordeira →
