Peyre, one of the “Most Beautiful Villages of France”

Whilst on our visit to the Millau visitors centre earlier in the week we had picked up a Discovery Guide to Aveyron, in which was an article about “Les Plus Beaux Villages de France”. One of the 10 listed villages in Aveyron was Peyre, just a very short 11 km drive downstream from Millau.

Gelderland, Doesburg, Netherlands

Unbeknown to us our chosen destination was in an area of Gelderland called Achterhoek. It is a delightful rural area and a superb spot for anyone who enjoys the great outdoors. We had views of the River and were surrounded by fields, farms and had access to a web of cycle routes, clearly signposted, which made exploring the area and the small villages around us so easy.
