We have spent the last ten days or so moving south to find warmer temperatures and escape the high winds present down the eastern coast of Spain. Campingpark Oberammergau had been a nice place to stay. The facilities are good and everyone on site friendly. The advertised Camping Card rate of €17 per night was once again bloated by tourist tax, environment tax etc to nearer €23, a bit annoying.
We decided to move over into the Black Forest region for the next leg of our journey back to the UK. I had passed through the region in 2009 on the motorcycle and fancied a closer look. The weather forecast for that region was better than close to the Alps too 🙂
I could happily have stayed at Campingplatz Seecamp for a while longer but what they were charging us, particularly at this time of year, was far too much. This was highlighted while chatting to another Brit visitor, staying long term, who were paying less per week than we were per day! Time to move on.
Kim had been studying the Camping Card book and had noticed a site with good reviews in Oberammergau, home of the famous Passion Play, so that became our target for the day.
The last couple of nights at Camping Klosterneuburg had been very blustery and the caravan had been rocked quite alarmingly to the point of even waking Kim up 🙂 A quick look at my Weatherpro app confirmed that it was probably time to move on again. Continue reading Zell Am See→
