This morning we set off to visit the Le Viaduc de Millau. As it forms part of the A75 autoroute we drove a short way north of Millau to join the road then headed south toward the viaduct.

As both of us are cheese lovers, including Roquefort, we felt a visit to the very place of its origins was worthwhile.
A 27 km drive away through the Parc Natural Régional des Grands Causses is the village of Roquefort sur Soulzon.
Whilst on our visit to the Millau visitors centre earlier in the week we had picked up a Discovery Guide to Aveyron, in which was an article about “Les Plus Beaux Villages de France”. One of the 10 listed villages in Aveyron was Peyre, just a very short 11 km drive downstream from Millau.
