With the caravan safely stored at Monte Parc, we set off on the 29th of March for Malaga airport to catch our British Airways flight to Gatwick to commence our house sit back in the UK. Mark & Jacqui were off to Thailand for a much needed holiday and we had agreed to house and cat sit for the duration.
Today we casually packed up to make our way back to the Malaga Monte Parc site in Alhaurin de la Torre, close to Malaga airport. Last Easter they agreed to store the caravan for a couple of weeks while we flew home and we were hoping they would agree to help us again.
The route involved a back track down the A-45 Autovia before joining the A-46 Autopista, toll road, down into Malaga.
The caravan was possibly the dirtiest it had ever been after a week under the trees at Camping La Albolafia but we had noticed a nearby car wash with a convenient gantry that would make it easy to give a good pressure wash all over, so we headed straight there.
Priego de Córdoba was our choice to visit today as we read it was known as the Town of Water, owing to the natural springs that flow in its surroundings. Although had it been Christmas we might have been torn as Rute was described as having the world’s biggest Chocolate Nativity Scene in the factory of Galleros Artesanos 😉 Continue reading Priego de Córdoba on the edge of the Sierras Subbéticas→
Although we generally choose to take public transport when visiting cities the local bus from Villafranca to Córdoba only runs from 07.15, 08.00 and 09.30 and then again at 14.15 and 16.15, which is either a little too early or too late for us, so we opted to take the car the 21 kms and fingers crossed find a car park which we would be able to get into, as we have the top-box on the roof of the car which often limits our options.
We had the pleasure of the company of our neighbour Michael, who hails from Denmark but lives in Singapore, which made a change from the norm. We had enjoyed each other’s company last night over supper and a few drinks. Continue reading Córdoba→
Last year, while we were in southern Spain, Kim had expressed the wish to visit Córdoba but somehow we skirted all around without ever visiting. Thinking we would fix this omission we headed up toward this famous city.
