After a couple of days of inclement weather we decided to escape our cabin fever and take a drive out and boy were we taken by surprise.
Saturday had been a glorious day and we had enjoyed a circular walk through the historic wine trail that was directly opposite our campsite.

The trail made a steady climb through endless vineyards whilst enjoying the views below. Information boards, in German, provided details of the history of the vineyards and the purpose of the trail and the Castellberg Project.

The sight of so many vines came as quite a shock to both of us as neither of us had any idea that this area in Germany was home to one of the country’s wine growing regions, although that said, 80% of production is sold locally 😉 Continue reading Todtnauer Waterfall→
A mere 2 hour drive from our campsite in Germany and we could be at the Rhine Falls in Switzerland. The picturesque drive through the Regional Naturepark of Schaffhausen would lead us to the Rheinfall, a place that Ray had seen signposted on his previous motorcycle trips but had not visited. We have spent the last ten days or so moving south to find warmer temperatures and escape the high winds present down the eastern coast of Spain.
