All Towing Posts – This tag marks all posts where we were travelling between stopping sites while towing the caravan. It does not include sightseeing trips.
After a fantastic week spent with Paul, Ros, and the kids it was once again time to move on. We had been recommended to visit nearby Zambujeira do Mar so we made the short 70km tow up the coast to the nearby Camping Villa Park Zambujeira. We avoided toll roads to get a more scenic route and apart from some rough patches of road the trip went well.
Today, in glorious sunshine, we packed up and prepared to tow to Camping Turiscampo, near Lagos, Portugal. We travelled almost all the way on the A22 motorway. I had setup a toll account online as Portugal toll roads are all now electronic with no one to take payment or pay by credit/debit card. As we had only 160km to go today we towed at a slower speed than normal to take in the sights of a new, to us, country and save a bit of fuel.
On Monday, although still feeling under the weather a little, we packed up and set off for our next site, Camping Giralda at Isla Cristina. This involved an incident free tow of 288km mostly on motorway with clear skies and ever increasing temperatures. We saw 28°C for a while.
Having enjoyed, despite the dreadful weather, a hectic whistle-stop visit to the UK for Easter with many meet-ups with family and friends, and a splendid Sunday roast (thanks Jean 🙂 ), we returned to the caravan last Wednesday with the intention of moving on toward Cádiz. This plan was scuppered purely because we were receiving good TV pictures of The Masters golf and we decided to stay to watch the tournament.
