About 35 minutes south from our campsite was the historic walled town of Óbidos, considered to be one of the most picturesque locations in Portugal. It seemed like the perfect way to spend our last day before we headed north to Porto. Continue reading Óbidos→
The forecast for the weather across Spain was not looking promising at all. Rain, rain and more rain!!! Today would probably be the last dry day in the region, so it was back to Seville Cathedral to explore this, and more, of this delightful city.
We made our way into the city the same as we had done yesterday, but rather than using the A7 motorway we went cross country.
The journey didn’t take much longer and a change of scenery can always be interesting. So, onto the A-483 out of the campsite, heading east on A-474 at Almonte.
Today we visited the medieval walled Old Town of Cáceres. Founded by the Romans around 25BC, it has been a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1986.

It very much resembled the landscape of the old ‘cowboy’ films and this location has, in the past, been the location for Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, James Bond and Never Say Never Again and several spaghetti westerns. Well you learn something new every day 😉 Continue reading Cabo de Gata-Níjar→
