Although we generally choose to take public transport when visiting cities the local bus from Villafranca to C贸rdoba only runs from 07.15, 08.00 and 09.30 and then again at 14.15 and 16.15, which is either a little too early or too late for us, so we opted to take the car the 21 kms and fingers crossed find a car park which we would be able to get into, as we have the top-box on the roof of the car which often limits our options.
We had the pleasure of the company of our neighbour Michael, who hails from Denmark but lives in Singapore, which made a change from the norm. We had enjoyed each other鈥檚 company last night over supper and a few drinks. Continue reading C贸rdoba
Last year, while we were in southern Spain, Kim had expressed the wish to visit C贸rdoba but somehow we skirted all around without ever visiting. Thinking we would fix this omission we headed up toward this famous city.
Happy St Patrick’s Day to one and all and the many people we saw in Gibraltar dressed in various combinations of green for the occasion.
The last time we had travelled to Gibraltar from Ronda along with my mum and dad was about 15 years ago and the road conditions have definitely improved since then 馃槈 It was more of dirt track, with very little of the road complete all those years ago and our experience this time was enhanced not only by tarmac but with the stunning views we encountered along the A-369 & A-377 through the Serran铆a de Ronda landscape.

We had been recommended taking a drive out through the Genal Valley, where several small villages are located in rugged landscape swathed with dense vegetation including, sweet chestnut trees. We can only imagine how spectacular it must look during the autumn months, when the trees would be laden with fruit and autumnal foliage.
