Saturday 20th January 2018
Friday was spent working on the van.
The weather was superb, and the sun highlighted the high, snow-capped, mountains to the west of the site. Kim worked most of the day re-organising and cleaning the inside and doing the washing.
I washed the outside of the caravan and applied a protective coating product my brother had recommend.
I then removed the wheels and brake drums to de-dust and adjust the brakes because they were noticeably less effective than they used to be.
Finally I cleaned the car, which was coated in filth from many miles we had driven since leaving Spain in December. It came as a surprise to me to find that the wheels are actually silver! 🙂

We studied the Camping Card book and I chose a site between Barcelona and Valencia, Campsite Didota.
Once again we took the toll road and made good progress. As we made our way south the temperature rose, peaking at 25°C.
On arrival our hearts sank a little.
The site appeared to be rammed full, caravans and motorhomes seemed to be wedged together, covering the complete site. On check-in we were offered a few unoccupied pitches that our van would fit on and we booked for four nights at €15 a night
The site has many facilities and activities, restaurant, indoor & outdoor pools, dance evenings, bingo, & live music for example. This would explain why it is full of long term over-winterers, but it’s not really our cup of tea.
We got set up & went into town for supplies.
On return we had a nice spag-bol and a couple of drinks while watching Salmon Fishing In The Yemen, streamed from Netflix.
The miles we had travelled since catching the ferry finally caught up with us and we hit the sack once the film had finished.
