As a reward for our earlier cycle ride, we decided to treat ourselves to a meal in the bar area. On a previous day we had enjoyed the menu Del dia, in the main restaurant. It was good value, at β¬9.95 each for a choice of 3 courses, including a drink, bread and an appetiser of sobrasada De Mallorca.; a smooth, spicy chorizo pate/paste, ideal for spreading on crispy bread.Tonight though a simple meal with wine would suffice. We had frequented the bar on a few occasions and the staff were polite and efficient and the bar was generally busy but not packed.
Like many sites, obtaining a Wi-Fi signal is often tricky, but the bar was an excellent spot, so people often congregated here for this very reason.
Unbeknown to us, tonight was karaoke night!! We were obviously in for a treat π
We declined the offer of taking part, politely, but decided to stay for a while and enjoy/or not, what was to come.
Surprisingly, the bar had begun to fill and there was definitely a buzz in the air, as the time neared for the event to kick off!
Although we ourselves are not the least bit interested in participating, for reasons too numerous to mention, we did have fun watching those who did.
It was obvious that some of the participants were seasoned performers, although not always in time or in tune, and others were just there for the βfun of itβ. We even had back up line dancers supporting!
We left before the battle of the French v English really picked up pace but nevertheless had enjoyed the evening.
The one thing about larger campsites is that there are often activity programmes throughout the week, as well as trips out to towns, festivals or markets, if you are at a loss for something to do, or even to meet other people with similar interests.
Our second reward of the evening came back at the van in the form of a nice G&T π
