Today we decided to move on. We hadn’t decided where to go until just before we left. The options we had given ourselves were either Warsaw or Vienna. The latter won on forecast temperature for the next week or so.
The facilities at Sokol Praha have been very good but it is, without doubt, the noisiest site we have stayed at so far. The nearby roads and proximity to an airport, coupled with tree cutting on the site, make finding peace & quiet impossible.
The final straw was a man with the loudest, and smelliest, leaf blower ever starting work just outside the van at 7:50 in the morning.

We set off on the motorway until the point where Kims’ phone suggested heading south on normal roads. This turned out to be a good choice. The road was wide and smooth and although busy with traffic, progress was good. The weather was good but very hazy.
The road passes through small towns and between those are vast areas of trees resplendent in their autumnal colours.
The only delays were a short stop for road works, and a little later the driver took a turn he shouldn’t. Luckily, this time, this was quickly rectified with a swift U turn in a bus stop.
As we approached the Austrian border we discussed stopping to buy a vignette for the motorways but instead we found a route on non toll roads to our chosen site.
We had the choice of three Camping Card sites near Vienna at this time of year. The one we chose, Donaupark Camping Klosterneuburg, had good reviews and afforded excellent transport links into the city.
On arrival we were instructed to find a pitch for ourselves. The pitches are of reasonable size and there were plenty to choose from. The washing and domestic duty areas are good, and very clean. The on site café is closed at this time of year.
We intend to stay for about a week.
