Wednesday 10th October 2018
The next place to visit on our wish list is the Czech Republic so we are Prague bound.
The weather forecast for the next two weeks there is very good so today we packed up, paid our bill, and made our way down to the Czech Republic.

Meissen Porcelain & Albrechtsburg Castle
Tuesday 9th October 2018
Today we drove, light engine, an hour or so over to Meissen, Lower Saxony.
The town sits on the River Elbe a few kilometres north west of Dresden. The purpose of our trip was to visit the House Of Meissen, the home of the famous porcelain maker. Porcelain has been produced in the town since 1710.
Schloss Colditz
Monday 8th October 2018
Today we took the short drive over to Colditz again to visit the Schloss and take the 13:00 guided tour. Priced at €9 the tour lasts an hour and gives you the basics of the history of the castle and its’ use as prisoner of war camp Oflag IV-C during World War 2.
There is a two hour extended tour available too. If I were to go again I would plump for this.
Resumption Of Travels
Sunday 7th October 2018
After an excellent 9 days or so visiting family, including new granddaughter Lucy, we returned to Berlin on Thursday for resumption of our travels..
Many thanks to Matthew for putting us up, & putting up with us, and for the loan of a car for our visit. Also to Jacqui & Mark for hosting us at the weekend, and Paul & Ros for lunch on Tuesday.
Lutz had been patiently waiting to pick us up from our delayed flight and once we had stowed our bags in the car he whisked us off to a quirky bar just over the airport fence. Unfortunately the whisking was a little too efficient as he was flashed by a speed camera on the way. Doh!
