Today we casually packed up to make our way back to the Malaga Monte Parc site in Alhaurin de la Torre, close to Malaga airport. Last Easter they agreed to store the caravan for a couple of weeks while we flew home and we were hoping they would agree to help us again.
The route involved a back track down the A-45 Autovia before joining the A-46 Autopista, toll road, down into Malaga.
The caravan was possibly the dirtiest it had ever been after a week under the trees at Camping La Albolafia but we had noticed a nearby car wash with a convenient gantry that would make it easy to give a good pressure wash all over, so we headed straight there.
For a low price of €6 the van was washed, rinsed, and given a coat of polish to restore its gleaming whiteness.
The caravan was also made lighter as I drove out as the plastic rear corner steady pads were neatly ripped off by the car wash gate runner rails as it grounded on the slope. Doh! Again.
Towing Kilometres – Today: 194 Cumulative: 29,555
Caravan ablutions complete we set off enroute with fine views of the surrounding countryside all around.
The views became even better on joining the AP-46. This road, opened in 2011, seems to be mostly elevated sections that majestically weave their way through the hills above Malaga and is incredibly smooth. A toll of €3.40 has to be paid for the pleasure but is well worth the money.
We received a nice welcome at Malaga Monte Parc and they agreed to store the van again so we will stay 4 nights to complete some domestic chores, catch up with the blog, and relax a bit before flying back to Gatwick on Friday. We have agreed to house and cat sit in Middleton-On-Sea for a couple of weeks, hopefully some of the Spanish weather will follow us 🙂
We managed to find a new set of corner steady feet for the princely sum of €14 at a nearby motorhome dealer, so not too expensive a repair 🙂
I’ve just started my motorhome travels and I’ve been following your blog for a while
