We had both seen the film, The Bridge of Spies, with the brilliant Mark Rylance and Tom Hanks, and Ray remembered, during his
childhood, the U-2 spy plane incident, which ultimately involved a prisoner exchange on Glienicke Bridge.
The bridge was about a one hour drive from our location in Oranienburg. The bridge connects Potsdam, the capital city of Brandenburg with Berlin and crosses the Havel River. Today we had plans to meet Lutz and Antje in Berlin later in the evening for a farewell/thank you dinner as well as an unexpected trip up the TV Tower courtesy of Lutz.
After sampling some authentic Thai cuisine last night at the onsite restaurant, Mä-Thai, we had changed our minds about moving on and were both in favour of a trip into Stockholm today.
A short 700 metre walk from the campsite is Bredäng Metro station which is perfect for the 10 km journey into the city on the Röda linjen/Red Line. Our destination was T-Centralen, Stockholm City, passing through Gamla Stan, which we would visit later in the day. Continue reading Stockholm→
