Güejar Sierra

The village of Güejar Sierra is located approximately 1100 metres on the north western slope of the Parque Natural de Sierra Nevada, along the hillside of the Cerro del Calar with the beautiful Canales reservoir in the valley below.

It was only 2 kms from our campsite but the approach was all up hill, so we took the car 😉

We don’t mind cycling but the roads in this area are way too steep for ‘us amateurs’ and we only have high praise for the many that we saw in this area. The roads were of Vuelta España standard! Continue reading Güejar Sierra

Cabo Roig, Costa Blanca, Alicante

About 10 kilometres to the south of Torrevieja is Cabo Roig. It is a popular resort in an area known as the Oriheula Costa. We had not visited here before, so decided to head to the marina area and enjoy a stroll along the coastal walk before heading back into Torrevieja for a spot of lunch with Andy on his first official day with us.

Jalón Valley or Vall de Pop, Marina Alta

Friday 8th February 2019

January, February and March are ideal months to see the almond trees in blossom around several parts of Spain, including the delightful area known as the Vall de Pop. We had read that the Alcalalí or Flower festival is held throughout February and there are several events which take place during this month too.
