Monday 6th November 2017
Today was to be another moving on day. The planned trip was into Spain, 332km from Les Peupliers down to Campsite Vilanova Park, about 35km WSW of Barcelona.
Packing up was easier than usual as we hadn’t used the awning. Just before leaving, we went into the village, light engine*, to find La Poste to post cards home, and to buy bread for lunch.
All connected up, we were ready to roll by about 10:30.

The trip down was surprisingly easy except for the wind, with very strong side wind gusts causing the caravan to lurch around uncomfortably at times but never start to sway. We stopped for lunch after 160km in clear blue skies and 19 deg temperatures. Lovely.
The strong winds eased after we passed south of the already snow tipped Pyrenees and into Spain.
We continued down the Autopista AP-7 without delay despite the ever increasing number of trucks on the road. No signs of impending civil war activities either! 🙂
Arrived at the site around 3:30 and paid in advance for a weeks stay. The site is in the ASCI CampingCard scheme, so we are being charged €17 plus local taxes a night, just under £15. This for a large, full service pitch. No fetching water or emptying drains all week for me! There is even a satellite TV hookup, but only Astra 19.2E available.
The outside pool is now closed for the season, but the supermarket on-site is open until the 11th. The excellent bar & restaurant is open too. The indoor pool is open all year, but only if you’re prepared to wear a silly rubber hat 🙂
By the time we had set up it was starting to get dark, so we settled down to a well deserved G&T.
