After a ‘day off’ yesterday it was time to head north again. Our target today was Camping de la Trye in Bresles, Picardy, a drive of around 230km. We set off in damp, cold, windy conditions with a forecast for more of the same. The wind was actually forecast to be 30kn gusting 55kn by early afternoon. As we proceeded the traffic grew and grew and google maps showed more and more delays so progress was slow. The gusty wind rocked the caravan a few times but not to the point of any alarm. Today the sun had made an appearance and although it was still incredibly cold, we didn’t want to waste a day, so Orléans was our planned destination. Neither of us had ever visited the city before and it always seems pity not to make the most of what is on your doorstep. So we set off for a taster visit to Orléans. A day of preparing the caravan for the long journey back home and stocking up on some Spanish provisions prior to our departure tomorrow, was the order of the day. We would soon be ready to say Adiós Vilanova Park.

We drove over to Cunit to ride along the promenade one more time and in the evening Lutz had generously offered to treat us all to dinner in the camp restaurant,
Cunit Promenade
The Menu del Dia proved a good choice all round, washed down with some local beer and vino tinto and the addition of some Christmas favourites being played on the keyboard in the corner of the room, kind of added something to the evening festivities, in a quirky way 🙂
After a couple of glasses back at Lutz’s campervan to end the evening, we thanked him for his hospitality and headed back home.
