Marjal Costa Blanca

Wednesday 24th January 2018

Didota Camping had exceeded our expectations. The facilities were good & everyone we met was very friendly. We had also enjoyed walking the beach and discovering the gardens and cycling route that Kim has described..

One thing I did thoroughly dislike though was the pigeon s**t. The car and caravan were splattered with it after only four days on site. Time to move on ๐Ÿ™‚

For the first time on the tour, we emailed ahead to the sites we had chosen to move on to. This was a good decision as the first 3 all replied that they were full until March! One of these emails was while we were enroute.

Towing Kilometres – Today: 297 Cumulative: 9,154

We decided to head straight for Marjal Costa Blanca Camping figuring that as it has a whopping 1200 pitches, and is not on the coast, that it must have a place for us ๐Ÿ™‚ The route involved a 300km drive on toll free roads.

The drive went without incident, but the aerodynamic efficiency of the car & caravan must have been adversely affected by the huge pile of pigeon crap on the top box. ๐Ÿ™‚ I’ll excuse you the picture ๐Ÿ™‚

On arrival at the site I think we were both overwhelmed by the shear size of it. It is like a small town, with bar, cafรฉ, restaurant, spa, swimming pools, tennis courts, supermarket etc, etc.

Every area is clean & tidy & well laid out.

We were efficiently allocated a nice, large pitch and had a leisurely setup including the awning, a first this year. We booked to stay a week, at the rate ofย โ‚ฌ19 a night including 4kw/h of electricity.ย  An added bonus is that if we stay for 7 nights, we only pay for 6.

The toilet/shower blocks are spotless with plenty of hot water & even toilet seats ๐Ÿ™‚

Time to test the bar ๐Ÿ™‚
