Having enjoyed, despite the dreadful weather, a hectic whistle-stop visit to the UK for Easter with many meet-ups with family and friends, and a splendid Sunday roast (thanks Jean 🙂 ), we returned to the caravan last Wednesday with the intention of moving on toward Cádiz. This plan was scuppered purely because we were receiving good TV pictures of The Masters golf and we decided to stay to watch the tournament.
I had picked out a Camping Card site south of Cádiz that looked like it might provide a good base to visit that city and Jerez, Camping Pinar San José. The site had favourable reviews so off we set on the 200km route via the AP-7 toll road.

We drove over in fine weather and chose a large pitch which would give the best of the evening sun. It was so pleasant to be sat outside in the hot sun again, Kim reading, me drinking to try and ease the misery of a bout of serious man flu 🙂
Unfortunately this may be short lived as the forecast is not looking as favourable for the rest of this week.
The facilities on site are good. There is a large supermarket, the shower blocks are modern and clean with ample hot water. The pool is closed until the end of May. The pitch is large with electricity, water, and waste provided. The cost is €19 per night.
The site is near Cape Trafalgar, scene of Nelsons victory over the French & Spanish navies, with its lighthouse and many beaches so we’ll probably be staying a week or so to explore those and Cádiz & Jerez de la Frontera.
