Once we had set up the caravan we made the most of the fantastic weather we were lucky enough to be experiencing this far north of the Arctic Circle & hoped that the weather would hold long enough to see the midnight sun 🙂
Who would have thought it would be 25°C at 71°N 😉
Apart from the main visitor centre, there really isn’t much to do at the North Cape, but the views out to sea are endless! We didn’t come particularly for the views or the visitor centre but to experience the midnight sun for once in our life time.
There are a few outdoor monuments to explore, along with many other tourists visiting. (Be prepared for the many tourist coaches which appear just before midnight!)
Entry to the visitor’s centre is included in the general ticket price and along with an expensive restaurant, bar and gift shop it has information about the traditions, nature and culture of the North Cape. Unfortunately it won’t take long to see all the exhibits and they weren’t that awe inspiring.
Luckily for us, the weather remained perfect and we were rewarded with this spectacular memory.
The sun never went below the horizon! All we have to do now is try to get to sleep 😉
