The day began with some welcome sunshine so we headed off to visit the nearby island of Gimsøya as well as hoping to spot the perfect fishing spot, a bit like the signs for moose we have encountered.
Our journey yesterday had taken us through the village of Kabelvåg and it was not difficult to miss the beautiful Vågan Church or as it is sometimes nicknamed, Lofoten Cathedral.
Our journey today would take us around the southern part of Hinnøya, from Harstad, following the E10, eventually joining the 85 and our destination, Gullesfjord, to stay at Gullesfjordbotn Camping.
Once we had set up the caravan we made the most of the fantastic weather we were lucky enough to be experiencing this far north of the Arctic Circle & hoped that the weather would hold long enough to see the midnight sun 🙂
After sampling some authentic Thai cuisine last night at the onsite restaurant, Mä-Thai, we had changed our minds about moving on and were both in favour of a trip into Stockholm today.
A short 700 metre walk from the campsite is Bredäng Metro station which is perfect for the 10 km journey into the city on the Röda linjen/Red Line. Our destination was T-Centralen, Stockholm City, passing through Gamla Stan, which we would visit later in the day. Continue reading Stockholm→
