Wednesday 17th January 2018
We woke at 06:30 after a good nights sleep for me, Kim having been woken by the wind & rain a couple of times . As we were already hitched up it didn’t take long to get ready to roll and we left before first light, on what turned out to be our longest towing day so far, striving to get as far south as possible, ideally Bordeaux.
I picked out a €17 Camping Card site, Bel-Air Camping, and made this the target for the day. It would involve a 660km tow to get there.
As the sun came up the skies cleared and the temperature started to climb, reaching 13°C at one point. Traffic was light most of the time, and road works few and far between.
At one point the road gave a good, if a bit distant, view of Mont St Michel. We will visit that in warmer weather 🙂
Towing Kilometres – Today: 666 Cumulative: 7,950
Good progress was made towing at a true 90kph on the cruise control on mostly excellent road surfaces. Kim’s navigation was exemplary all day. No missed turns, no stress 🙂 We used a route via Rennes & Nantes as this involved a lot lower toll charge than the Le Mans route.
We arrived around 17:00 which left plenty of light to get set up. The site is clean & tidy and facilities more than adequate for our needs for one night.
Another towing day tomorrow and now is the time to decide where we head tomorrow. Perpignan is warm & dry, Pamplona cold & wet.
Can’t think on an empty glass, time for a verre de vin rouge 🙂
