700km to Trondheim
Monday 13th to Wednesday 15th August 2018
Based on the current weather and the forecast for the next few days the decision was made to press on the 700km, or so, south to visit Trondheim. I had visited the cathedral in 2012 and was sure Kim would enjoy it there.
The route was almost all on the E6 and the start was delightful through Saltfjellet – Svartisen National Park.
Progress was often hampered by mile after mile of roadworks. The E6 is being widened and straightened in many places.

Saltstraumen
Sunday 12th August 2018
The ferry arrived in Bodø bang on time and after unloading we made our way to a campsite that Paul & I had stayed at in 2012, Saltstraumen Camping.

The reason for this choice of site was to see the nearby maelstrom in action. The site has hard standing and grass pitches and the facilities are excellent. The shower blocks are immaculate and the water as hot as you could wish for. Because of the rain we set up on a hard standing pitch with drinking water nearby.
Nusfjord & Moskenes Municipality
Thursday 9th August 2018
The next leg of our meander down the Lofoten Isles brought us to Moskenes Camping. Although a little on the expensive side, 340NOK per night, it is perfectly located next to the ferry port for our departure back to the mainland on Saturdays 10:30am ferry.

Gimsøya Island & Henningsvær
Wednesday 8th August
The day began with some welcome sunshine so we headed off to visit the nearby island of Gimsøya as well as hoping to spot the perfect fishing spot, a bit like the signs for moose we have encountered.
